Our MISSION
- Charter is building a field exam business that reflects the quality, reputation, and integrity of the clients we serve
- We have the experience to provide collateral analyses from a lender’s perspective; including relevant, concise, and required information to make critical lending decisions
- We will be client focused. We understand that lenders have a choice when selecting a field exam firm that (i) represents them with respect to their client and (ii) serves as a critical diligence partner when structuring and managing risk
- We pride ourselves in providing solutions and will strive to solve issues ranging from the simplest to the most complex (including scheduling during periods of capacity constraints)
-
- We will assist the borrower in understanding any issues and credit rationale from an ABL lender’s perspective
Ron Kubick
Founder | Managing Partner
Ron began his accounting and finance career as an internal auditor and cost accountant at fortune 500 companies such as Ingersoll-Rand and American Cyanamid (acquired by Wyeth) where he executed (i) interim financial statement audits (ii) year-end GAAP audit programs in conjunction with the Company’s external auditors (KPMG and PWC) and (iii) executed special programs such as forensic / fraud audits. Assignments included audits of the Company’s manufacturing subsidiaries located in North America, Asia-Pacific, and Europe. In 1997, he was recruited to join GE Capital’s (“GECC”) internal field exam group (i.e. collateral analysts) to perform field exams for GECC’s growing ABL platform. After the first year of performing field exams, Ron was recognized for his extensive audit experience and understanding of collateral analysis and was promoted to Audit Manager. He went on to lead a group of approximately 30 collateral analysts and provided analytical support, technical expertise, and ongoing training and development to support GECC’s strong internal risk management culture.
Ron’s career continued to progress through the GECC organization with increasing responsibilities in risk management, credit / underwriting, and origination. During 2006, he was recruited to create and lead Barclays Capital’s ABL Capital Markets Group as part of it’s bespoke leverage finance buildout. Since then, he has successfully led ABL platforms at Morgan Stanley as well as capital markets advisory roles at Miller Buckfire and OceanArc Capital (a capital markets advisory firm he founded in 2016 that continues to serve sponsor and non-sponsored clients).
Charter Diligence Group (CDG) was created on the premise that ABL credit markets continue to be faced with complex issues as ABL’s are used to finance a wide array of companies in varying situations. ABL lenders require field exams that provide work product that is clear, concise, and offers the extra layer of risk management that can only be provided from a former lenders perspective. Charter will be staffed with full time accounting / audit professionals (no contractors) and will provide CDG’s banking clients with a client focused approach while putting risk management first.
